On Estrada's Pardon

Though CIBAC believes that granting pardon to former President Estrada is an acceptable reconciliatory act at the appropriate time, we cannot alienate it from the present circumstances. We are afraid that the pardon is a tactic to further divert the attention of the people from the numerous scandals and corruption allegation against the present administration, especially against Mrs. Arroyo herself, her spouse, and her official family. The pardon is for Erap. It is not a pardon for Mrs. Arroyo!
 
On the bribery allegation

There’s something fishy going on in the House. And the stench could be traced to that palace along the Pasig River. CIBAC welcomes any legitimate action to pursue truth, justice and good governance but it disdains any attempt to circumspect democratic processes for selfish interests. As we have done in the past and as we continue to do still, CIBAC will be looking at the allegations seriously and would take appropriate measures to ferry out the truth.
 
Sting of Corruption - Who is laughing?

IT was quite a shock to me – reading the words of one of my colleagues from a daily newspaper. The news piece was about Congressional funds and the man was demanding for the release of the money for his district. He was quoted saying – I would not be surprised if the funds for the members of the opposition are held up but not that of congressmen from the administration because we supported the President.

On the fight aganist corruption

Unless we punish the crooked, really punish them and punish them hard, the crime of corruption will not die and we will continue to suffer from it.

Corruption is not a way of life, we should stop acknowledging the lame excuse that "talagang ganyan naman sa serbisyo sibil, wala tayong magagawa"
