1. In 1996, 492 of 3,776 reported cases of child abuse involved pornography, prostitution, paedophilia and trafficking. There were 8,335 cases of child abuse from 1991-1996, 96% of the victims were females. (Department of Social Welfare and Development, "375,000 Filipino Women & Kids Are Into Prostitution," Philippine Daily Inquirer, 26 July 1997) [1] 

2. About 25 tabloids, half of them carrying sensational sex stories and lewd photos of nude or seminude women on their front pages, are peddled everyday in the streets of Metropolitan Manila. [2]

3.The surveys say that half of Manila's over 18 million population read these tabloids which have a combined circulation of about 3.4 million.[3]

 

4. The three main producers of pornography in Asia are Japan, Hong Kong, and Thailand. [4]

 

5. Some of the most famous pornographic magazines are Playboy (originally only in US, nowadays has editions in many countries), Penthouse, Hustler Magazine (originally only in US, nowadays has editions in many countries), Blueboy (early California-based magazine with pictures of guys; singer Cyndi Lauper mentions it in her song She-Bop), Private (Established in Stockholm, Sweden in 1965 as the world's first full color hardcore sex magazine), Le Ore (Italy), once an ordinary newspaper, in the 1970s had a notable turn in editorial line and represents now the most important title of a wide network of sex related magazines in central Europe, Playgirl, and Freshmen (along with Men and Unzipped, a series of 3 gay-themed publications). [5]

 

6. Some of the studios that produce pornographic films are Color Climax Corporation (Denmark), Falcon Studios, Titan Media, Vivid Video, VCA Pictures. [6]

 

7. Some of the famous foreign pornographic movies are Behind the Green Door, Debbie Does Dallas, Deep Throat, Emmanuelle, Taboo, The Opening of Misty Beethoven, and The Devil in Miss Jones.[7]
