Anak Mindanao Rep. Mujiv Hataman and Citizens Battle Against Corruption Rep. Joel Villanueva appealed to the international community, especially the United Nations to monitor government’s implementation of martial law in Maguindanao.

Militant lawmakers yesterday admitted that the tyranny of numbers in Congress might spoil their attempt to revoke Proclamation No. 1959 which placed the province of Maguindanao under martial law.

But Gabriela Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan, Anakpawis Rep. Joel Maglunsod and Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Colmenares warned Speaker Prospero Nograles Jr. and his majority allies not to be part of a purported illegal plan to expand Martial Law in the country, saying “such action will be rejected by the people.”

It will be a very dangerous move of Congress to support the proclamation. It will become a stamping pad of an unconstitutional act. Congress will be party to sinister plot to declare martial law all over the country,” said Ilagan who along with other militant lawmakers will file a resolution calling for the revocation of martial law.
