Villanueva said the prompt action from CHED in revealing the names of schools with substandard nursing programs will help uplift the state of nursing as a profession in the country.

TWO lawmakers yesterday reiterated their appeal to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to identify the 177 schools with inferior nursing programs so that parents will be warned from enrolling their children to these substandard institutions this coming school year.

Marikina City Rep. Marcelino Teodoro and Citizens Battle Against Corruption party-list Rep.  Joel Villanueva made the call following the continued failure of CHED chairman Emmanuel Angeles to implement the closure order.

“We have to forewarn our parents about these inferior schools whose primary objective is to gain huge profits.  Their names must be identified publicly as soon as possible,” said Teodoro.

Teodoro said CHED must ensure that the highest standards of education in state universities and colleges and private higher education institutions are met accordingly.

Villanueva said the prompt action from CHED in revealing the names of schools with substandard nursing programs will help uplift the state of nursing as a profession in the country.
